- Two-year PG Diploma in Direction
LVPA’s Film Direction Course emphasizes both theory and hands-on experience. Students
gain invaluable experience directing their own films and serving as crew members on other
students’ projects. The craft of direction encompasses cinema language, storytelling, staging and
blocking for camera and actors, and collaborating with cast and crew on film projects. Direction
students are encouraged to cultivate and articulate both voice and vision in their creative work.
- Two years PG Diploma in Cinematography
LVPA is committed to giving aspiring cinematographers the professional skills they need in order to
work in the industry. In this program, students learn the theoretical and practical skills necessary for
visual storytelling in films, television shows, or web series. Students work on multiple projects.
- One Year PG Diploma in Editing
LVPA makes the aspiring editors to master the language of cinema so that they can thoughtfully and
intentionally select, arrange, trim and pace camera footage to transform it into powerful and coherent
stories. In addition to editing, students learn colour grading, and compositing. They work with
final year students of Direction and Cinematography on diploma films.
- One Year PG Diploma in Sound Design & Music Production
Students in this program are trained in the concept and principles of sound recording and design, as
well as practical aspects of recording and mixing, using industry-standard tools for 5.1 and Atmos
mixing. Students work with final year students of Direction and Cinematography on diploma films.
In Music Production, Students will understand the Soundtrack Industry. Studying Music Theory.
Mixing and Editing Music for Visual Media.
Diploma Courses
Diploma in Screen Acting – 1 Year
The one-year Screen Acting diploma at LVPA focuses on acting for the screen in front of the camera.
In addition to coursework in acting technique, you will enroll in fundamental film classes such as film
language and film history to enhance your understanding of acting for the screen. The students also work on
actual film projects with student directors and crews.

FOR UG PROGRAM:
- All applicants will be required to undergo the PCAT (Prasad Creative Assessment Test). The dates for the online examination will be communicated in advance to all candidates.
- Twelfth pass in any discipline may apply for the UG Courses in BFA in filmmaking, Visual effects, Media technology, Visual Media
- Students pursuing 12th may also apply
- International students may apply complying with the relevant/ equivalent requirements mentioned above.
- Where applicable, candidates must complete all arrears before joining LVPCMS
- Once selected, Semester Fee details will be communicated to the student in the admission letter. There is no Refund for any course registered at LVPCMS.

- Digital Cinematography using RED – 12 Weekend Program
This program provides students the knowledge of equipment, cameras & lensing (Sony FS100 &
Sony FS700, RED MX) 3-point lighting, film aesthetics, real time production, color correction in this
program.
- Direction for Film and TV – 15 Weekend Program
This 15 weekend course will provide comprehensive training in producing short films for cinema and
television, taught by senior and experienced faculty and practicing filmmakers.
- Acting for Cinema – 15 Weekend Program
In general this course is specially designed for anyone who wants to try a career in acting for Cinema
and Television and in particular designed for working men and women who wants to sharpen their
skill in acting for Film and Television.
- Film Direction Preparation and Practice – 15 Weekend Program
This is a 120 Hrs (30 hrs – Online, 90 hrs – Campus and Project) program. Anyone with an interest
in filmmaking is eligible for this course. The course will provide you an opportunity to explore the
nuances of Film Direction.
- Editing and Color Grading – Preparation and practice – 12 Weekend Program
This is a 96 Hrs (24 hrs – Online, 72 hrs – Campus and Project) program. Anyone with an interest in
Editing & Colour Grading is eligible for this course. The course will provide you an opportunity to
explore about the nuances of Editing & Colour Grading.
BFA in Filmmaking
4 years – Authorized Collaborative Institution of Alagappa University
The two primary goals of the B.F.A programme in Filmmaking are: to introduce aspiring filmmakers
to all aspects of one of the most powerful storytelling media formats in the world; and to help filmmaking
students develop and express their creative voice as cinematic storytellers. Students take courses in direction,
producing, screenwriting, cinematography, editing, and sound design. Our courses are taught by professional
faculty, with academic qualifications from recognized Indian and international film schools. Students produce
original content while working on film productions of increasing complexity each year. After graduation,
student may pursue higher studies in media, communications, or film studies; join the filmmaking industry; or
work in government/non-governmental media departments.
