Sandipp Bhattacharya

HOD Cinematography

“Cinematographer is a hero with splendid outdoor shots in some marvelous locations.” said a critic in a review of Sandipp’s work in the film “RANG” which was a Tulu language blockbuster. Sandipp graduated from the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Calcutta, in Cinematography. He cherishes the fortuitous association he has had with the legendary cinematographer Subrata Mitra at SRFTI. Sandipp has worked on Feature Films, Television Programmes, Commercials, and Music Videos. His penchant for visual language has given him a variety of opportunities to explore different formats for narrative, documentary, and other forms of storytelling.

Sandipp has been active in Film Academics as Faculty in Cinematography at Ramoji Academy of Film & Television, Hyderabad since 2001 for 10 years. He believes that his interest in the Urdu poetry, Bengali literature, and Hindustani classical music enriches his understanding of the art & craft of cinematography, which he loves to share with his students.
