Anyone with an interest in filmmaking is eligible for this course. The course will provide you an opportunity to explore scriptwriting, camera, editing and sound design with both aesthetic and technical knowledge and skills. This could be a hobby or the beginning of a serious journey into filmmaking.

Course Description:

This 10-weekend course will provide comprehensive training in producing short films for cinema, taught by senior and experienced faculty and practicing filmmakers.

This course will have the following three components

  • First four weeks consists of intensive classes on theoretical aspects of filmmaking focusing on craft, aesthetics and language of cinema with screenings of pertinent short films and movie clips from National and International films.
  • Second four weeks consists of hands on training on all aspects of filmmaking – writing script, handling DSLR cameras, production management and handling post production (edit and sound).
  • Final two weeks will consist of production of short films by students, mentored by senior faculty.

At the end of the course each participant will carry a short film directed by them (as a team) and basic knowledge of filmmaking that will give them the confidence to go further in filmmaking.
