Since his graduation in Cinematography from FTII, he has been working in feature films and documentaries in Malayalam and other languages. He has won the National Film Award for Best Cinematography for the documentary 18th ELEPHANT and State Film Awards for DANI and SOOFI PARANJA KATHA. He has also won State Television Award for his works. He has been working in C-Dit as Deputy Director since 1990, and teaching visual media in and outside Kerala. He was involved in various television programmes like ENTE KERALAM, SASTHRA KAUTHUKAM etc. He has served in various film award committees and other positions which either judged the visual sensibility or set up institutions towards a better visual literacy.
