About Presenter – Arvind Sastry , (Filmmaker, Film Academician)
He is the youngest filmmaker to have received the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Original Screenplay, which he won for his debut film, KAHI (2016). The film was also screened in the 9th Bengaluru International Film Festival. It was one of the first Kannada films to stream on Netflix. The film was also streaming on Amazon Prime till October 2021.
His second film, ALIDU ULIDAVARU (2019), went on to complete 100 days of theatrical run before the COVID-19 lockdown shut down theatres. Alidu Ulidavaru is currently streaming on Amazon Prime and has garnered a good following.
Arvind’s third film is titled, DASARA, and it is currently in post-production.
Apart from this, Arvind heads the production house Boiled Beans Pictures. He has served as a Visiting Faculty for film students at St. Joseph’s College, Bengaluru and has also served as a jury member for the Asian Cinema Competition category of the 13th Bengaluru International Film Festival. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor (Film Direction & Screenplay Writing) at LV Prasad Film & TV Academy, Bengaluru.
